Teens

Being a teen comes with constant pressure. School. Friendships. Expectations. Social media. It’s a lot to carry.

Many teens don’t exactly love the idea of therapy, and that makes sense. Amy’s approach is different. Teens feel understood from the very first session.

Teens come here for clarity, confidence, and tools that actually work in real life. Amy helps them break unhelpful patterns and build emotional strength and confidence

Who it’s for

Amy works with teens navigating:

  • Anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm

  • Friendship drama, social pressure, and confidence struggles

  • School stress, perfectionism, or burnout

  • Life transitions, family changes, or grief

  • Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of themselves

Many teens don’t come to therapy excited. That’s okay. Amy creates a space where teens feel respected, understood, and safe to be real, without being talked down to.

Inside the session

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to each teen.

This isn’t just talking in circles. Teens learn how to:

  • Identify unhelpful patterns

  • Practice emotional regulation in real time

  • Build confidence through action

  • Learn communication and boundary skills

  • Create simple strategies teens actually use

Parents stay involved through check-ins and consults as needed, while teens are given space to build independence and ownership of their growth.

Our approach

Amy blends her proprietary style, IAT, with evidence-based modalities:

  • CBT adapted for teens

  • Emotional awareness and regulation skills

  • Pattern recognition and intentional action

  • Practical coping strategies

  • Collaboration with families and schools when helpful

What makes this work different is the focus on change, not just insight.

Teens don’t just talk about what’s hard. They practice new ways of responding, thinking, and showing up.

Common goals

Families often come in hoping to:

  • Reduce anxiety, shutdowns, and overwhelm

  • Build confidence and self-trust

  • Improve communication at home

  • Strengthen friendships and social skills

  • Help teens feel more in control of their emotions

  • Support teens in navigating school and life with clarity

Our goal is growth, not endless therapy.

We help teens build skills they carry forward, so they leave feeling stronger, more capable, and ready for what’s next.
